Description

An introduction to the processes and development of landforms and soils as the result of surficial processes operating within the framework of global tectonics. Topics include description and classification of landforms, and evaluation of erosional and depositional processes with respect to earth materials, structure, and geologic history. Emphasis on fluvial, marine, aeolian, and glacial origins of landforms. Laboratory work includes methods of analysis of landforms from surface imagining and the study of soils. Field trips required.
